MV Courageous
A Swedish-built ship with a colorful past — once seized for smuggling — sunk by the U.S. Air Force in a QUICKSINK weapons demonstration.
MV Courageous was originally built in Åmål, Sweden, in 1956, launching as the MV Homborsund under a Norwegian flag. She changed names a few times and was even seized once by U.S. authorities for smuggling.
She was ultimately acquired by the U.S. Air Force to demonstrate a new weapons delivery system, and was sunk on April 28, 2022 in 130 feet of water. The blast damage makes for a dramatic, unique wreck dive.
