R/V Manta
A 180-foot former research vessel sitting in 111 feet — big, intact, and one of the area's newest headline wrecks.
On January 15, 2023, the Okaloosa Coastal Resource Team deployed the MANTA off the coast of Destin-Fort Walton Beach. Like her sister ship DOLPHIN, she was a surplus research vessel used for oil and gas exploration in the Gulf.
She sits in 111 feet of water about 16 nautical miles south of Destin, inside the LAARS C permitted area.
